I haven't really had time to do a recap of the weekend. I've neglected some of my cleaning duties the last week, so I've been playing catch up. Oh, and I've also tried to have a little fun in there somewhere too!
We took Dylan to the zoo Saturday. I think Nicole and I were more excited than Dylan, and he was pretty excited! haha
Once Chris got over the sticker shock of the cost of admission, we had a really nice time. We got there as soon as the zoo opened so we wouldn't have to deal with crowds. I think we will always try and do that.

One of the coolest things we saw were the lions! They were sooo awesome. Just beautiful, powerful creatures.
Kwanza and his girlfriend. ( I forgot her name) They had relations while we were there. The zoo worker said they don't really have a mating season they just practice alot!! ;)
D and his tiger buddy! He was probably saying Roll Tide! This child doesn't like any type of tigers :)
I promise I'm not some crazy bird lady.
Dylan spent the night with Nicole and Derek one night so Chris and I could get a little break. Dylan hadn't spent the night away from home since last year sometime. Our luck there was a tornado watch that night, so we kinda had to rush through our dinner. We went to the Cheesecake Factory, and it actually turned out awesome because there was only like 20 other people in the entire resturant. Plus, we had this awesome view...
If you go to Cheesecake Factory you have to get cheesecake, right?
Hmm...Vanilla Bean :) I'm a minimalist when it comes to cheesecake.
Does anyone else watch Secret Life of the American Teenager??
It comes on ABC Family. I have no idea why I watch it because they are the worst actors ever!! I mean its really, really bad! I think everyone is just really pretty on the show, so I watch it. I guess its my guilty pleasure show ;)
Dylan is loving watching Handy Manny episodes on Chris' phone. Somehow with our Uverse we can download shows on our phones for free. He can sit and watch the episodes over and over.
Here he is laying beside me watching his shows...
The kid loves his shows what can I say? :)
I had this epiphany tonight that I'm trying to make dinners too hard. Everything can't be gourmet. I'm not going to be able to make Shrimp Scampi in a White Wine Cream Sauce with Angel Hair Pasta every night. Well, probably not ever knowing me. ha! Anywho, I'm simplifying things. I'm going back to the old school dinners I know. For example, tonight we had Green Beans, Potatoes, and Creamed Corn. I also had some leftovers from Cheesecake Factory and Chris had chicken poppers for his "meat". Don't judge me because he buys them because he loves them!! :) And we had no other meat that was not frozen in the house. I don't have to have meat with my meal, but Chris does. Who knows what I'll make tomorrow, maybe some dumplings? I have a secret to dumplings..its all in the biscuits. That recipe is courtesy of my mom. I'm about to fold some clothes and then hit the hay! (that is southern for "go to bed") haha!
