We've had a lot of fun lately. I've been trying to soak up the last few minutes of my maternity leave. I have to say, sitting here on the Sunday night before returning to work on Monday, I have the blues. I have cried about it. I can't lie. It's hard to work 45 minutes (one way) away from home and the kid's daycare. It's soo hard to leave my baby girl, even though I know she will be well taken care of. Anyway, this post is about the fun we've been having so let's talk about that. :)
We went to the botanical gardens this weekend because it was sooo pretty out. There was one little area with all these pretty bell shaped flowers, and I told Chris several times that I wish was my backyard!
I wanted to get a pic of Kinley, but she was sleeping soundly, so I didn't wake her.
They have huge koi in the pond and tons of all size turtles. I really wanted to take home all the small turtles. They are just so cute. : )
Dylan refused to turn his back on this goose without Chris standing there. LOL!
We also visited Vulcan Park. I grew up here in Birmingham, but I've never visited Vulcan. I'm sure that makes me some kind of bad citizen or something. Anyway, it was really cool.
I had no idea it would be that windy up there. Totally underestimated it!
Dylan loved it too and kept wanting to see "the big man."
After we left Vulcan, we went by Yogurt Mountain to get some fro yo! I really like saying fro yo because it's kinda annoying! haha
We also eat at La Paz, one of our fav places to eat after church on Sundays.
Kiwi's first time there. : )
Oh, we did have a scary moment last week. Dylan was on the way back from the lunch room at school and he ran straight into the door frame of his room. They called me from the center and said I better come get him and take him to the doc because they thought he might have a concussion. This is what it looked like when I picked him up.
Can you see how it's like two bumps?
The doctor had him get a skull x-ray to make sure it wasn't fractured. Praise the Lord it wasn't. It's been healing quickly. I'm pleasantly surprised.
I really had fun this weekend and I hate it's over for many reasons, but mainly the one mentioned above. I know I can do it, but it's tough. No matter what, it's tough.
