American Weekend

Can I just tell you how much I love holiday weekends??? Well, A LOT! We’ve been going, going, & going.

Saturday

Saturday morning, we hopped up and set off to the McWane Center. We thought we would get there a little bit before they opened to, ya know, beat the rush. Well, everyone else had that idea too. Oh well, the Chick fil a cows were there to entertain the kids while in line. Of course, Dylan was scared of them, but let me say, one was like 8 feet tall! So yeah, a little much for a tiny person. Dylan had a blast once we got inside. They have this little area called “Just Mice Size”. He loved it! It had this play water table that he adored.

 Chris and I had fun too. We got to pet a baby hammerhead shark. Really cool.

We had our fave pizza place ever for lunch, Davenport’s in Mountain Brook.

After lunch, we walked around at Leaf and Petal and I got an awesome hanging basket of hot pink flowers. It’s gorgeous.

Sunday

Sunday, Dylan, Mimi and I went shopping!! We visited the new Big Lots in town. The store was so clean and we had a lot of fun wandering around looking at everything. I got an awesome Market Umbrella. I am so excited over this because the more I look at it, the more I love it!

I could eat Mexican everyday, so we had lunch at Don Pepe & later that night, I made Funfetti cupcakes (I had been craving one so bad). Can you tell I am really into eating healthy?? haha

I hadn't watched a movie in awhile, so Chris and I watched “Valentines Day” Sunday night. I loved it! It was so sweet. Oh, did I mention we also bought our anniverary present early???....a new Sony Bravia tv for our bedroom. It's uh, pretty awesome! :) So yeah, we christened it with a movie.
Memorial Day

 Memorial Day started with me taking a visit to the doc in the box. Diagnosis..UTI. Fun, Fun! <----(total sarcasm) Chris and my brother, Derek, went fishing while I was at the doc.

Around lunch, we hopped in the pool to cool off. It was freezing, but we got used to it and it turned out really nice. My mom prepared us a Memorial Day feast…mac and cheese, baked beans, potato salad, garlic bread, and strawberry dessert. Chris and Derek grilled chicken and hamburgers...in the pouring down rain! It was too funny. The sun came out right when they finished. Anyway, It was so good :) After dinner, Chris, Dylan, and I went for walk around the neighborhood. Dylan rode in style in his wagon. We had such a great weekend…I really wish I could just stop time sometimes. ;)
