Well, hey y'all! I'm linking up with the Alabama Women Bloggers to get to know some other Bama bloggers! I'm excited to read about some of my fellow ladies in our new little community. :)
So, without further ado, here is a little about me:
1. What part of the state do you call home? A cute little town about 15 min. north of Birmingham called Gardendale.
2. How long have you been blogging? I’ve been blogging about 3 years.
3. Why did you start blogging? I started blogging for my son. I tried the whole scrapbook thing because, gah, it’s just so cute. However, I’m almost OCD when it comes to neatness and, y’all, there are a lot of tiny little pieces in scrapbooking. Anyway, it was just taking too long to layout and clean up every time I wanted to do a little scrapbooking. My pics were digital anyway, so blogging just became the natural way to keep our memories!
4. What is your favorite part of being a member of the Alabama Women Bloggers community? It took me awhile to even find other Bama bloggers. I know, crazy. I finally did though, and it’s awesome if for no other reason than we know what and where everyone else is talking about. If someone suggests a cool park or yummy restaurant, boom, I’m all over that! ;)
5. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Oohh, tough question, there are so many possibilities. Right now, I’m a SAHM. In 5 years though, both my kids will be in school. I’ve thought about going into real estate. However, I’ve also thought about really getting involved with a non-profit…something like the American Cancer Society. The short answer is I honestly have no idea what I’ll be getting into in 5 years. God has a plan though. Wanna make God laugh tell him your plans they say! ;) Just hope my family is happy and healthy. That’s all that matters, right?
6. If you could choose an actress to play you in your life, who would you choose and why? Reese Witherspoon. I mean we look nothing alike, but she’s southern, classy (let’s forget about that whole arrest thing, mmkay?) smart, and you want to be friends with her.
7. Name 5 things on your Bucket List that you hope you’ll check off before you die: I have several places I want to travel, but I will go easy on those for the purpose of this list! Haha
1. Visit Ireland
2. Volunteer and really get involved with a charity I’m passionate about.
3. Become a real runner
4. Renew my vows with my husband
5. See my husband’s and children’s dreams become reality. (I’m sorry for this one, but I must have the cheesy mom answer. Just trying to be honest)
8. If you could be known for one thing, what would it be and why? This one is easy…being a good mom and Christian example for my children.
9. Describe the best moment in your life. I have two…when my children were born. Hands down. The feeling you get when you look into your newborn’s eyes for the first time, it’s indescribable. If you could bottle it, I’d be an addict.
10. If you could “be” anything (no consequences, no fear), what would you “be”? This really isn’t very exciting, but I’ve always had a dream to own a little boutique in a coastal town. Fairhope has always had a special place in my heart for doing something like that.
11. What or who inspires you to blog? My kids! I turn my blog into a book every year and I want the kids to be able to look back at all the fun we had. That’s why I try to be very positive on my blog. It’s not that our life is perfect or we don’t go through trials, I just don’t want my children to have to read through pages and pages of negativity. This blog is for them.
12. We’re headed to your neck of the woods… what restaurant would you recommend? Pizza- Davenports Casual- Tavern on the Summit Mexican- La Paz BBQ- Jim ‘n Nicks. Seafood-visit the gulf I could go on and on….
13. What’s a southern tradition you and your family have? We go camping (errr..RVing) We have a fifth wheel that we basically just pull around Alabama and visit local campgrounds. Maybe when the kids are older we will get bolder with our travel choices. For now though, we have fun just staying kinda close to home.
14. If you could pick your favorite blog post from your blog this year, what would it be?
It would have to be the post about our Spring Break beach trip. We just had the best time! I love the memories we made on that trip. : ) That post is here.
15. We all love social media, tell us your links so we can follow you:

I found you through Alabama Women Bloggers and your dream is MINE!! That is so cool!! If I ever get tired of being a nurse, I'm totally owning a boutique!! I LOVE Coastal, too!! :)
Tavern on the Summit and La Paz are some of my favorite places to eat as well! I also said Reese Witherspoon, she is so classy (minus her recent run in with the cops, but we can all look past that!)I have always wanted to own my own boutique! If only I had the funds to start one up!
I love your 5 year answer. I kinda have the same thing... I tried to plan my life, and God's plans were much better! I'm so happy we have you as a member of our blogging community! Thanks for linking up with us today!
I've said so many times since Barrett was born that it was like a high meeting him for the first time. So much so that I found myself getting jealous everytime I saw pictures of a mom with her brand new baby. I felt a little crazy for a while! Ha!
I've always had this yearning to live in a charming coastal town too...minus the boutique, but I love boutiques so I'd be a patron of yours if you ever started your biz.
You sound like a great mom and I think the RV vacations around town will be a great memory for your young ones.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today :)
Ahh! We have a 5th wheel, too! And a Kenlee! I'm so happy we connected!
I'm so glad you started blogging instead of scrapbooking.
Fun story: In high school we had to do a scrapbook of our lives and I wanted until the night before it was due to start it. Needless to say I didn't sleep that night and there was a huge mess. In those moments I vowed to never do any scrap booking ever again. But I did get an A!
So glad to 'meet' you!
So glad I found you through AL Women Bloggers since we live in the same general area. I am a few exits north in the Hayden/Corner area, my hubby works in Mt Olive but we love spending time in G'dale. I, too am not a scrapbooker. I tired it and just was not my thing.
I've never been to Davenports but everyone tells me I need to go!
Nice to meet you!!! I too am try to become a "real runner!" Not sure what the definition of that is yet. I love Fairhope!! And owning a boutique there would be perfect! Could you imagine just opening your doors strolling next door to get a coffee and taking in the bay breeze everyday?? Perfection!
Awesome post! It's nice to "meet" you! I love that you want to own your own boutique!
I love that you stick to positive posts for the sake of your kids. It's a good example for me! I always enjoy reading your posts!
Wow. . .you actually even put Fairhope on your list. Very cool! It's great to read over your answers and get to know you. Your blog is the third one so far to mention this Jim n' Nick's place. I guess I'm going to have to search it out the next time I'm up that way!
