Hobbies & Some Favorites

So far, I'm loving fall! We have already done so many fun things, have fun things planned, and I also have a fun new toy for myself.
Let's start with my toy, I got a new Embroidery and Monogramming machine. Whoop whoop!

I'm hoping to gain a new hobby that I can actually benefit from (ya know, not like Candy Crush...which I have successfully quit BTW). It's super overwhelming, but also neat because some of the designs and appliques are too cute. I'm still researching what fonts and designs to download because I can already tell this will be a $$ hobby if I'm not careful, haha!
We took a short beach trip a couple weeks ago. To be totally frank, fall is my favorite time at the beach. I'm not a fan of all the vacationers and crowds in the summer. Yes, I consider myself a honorary local because we'll be moving there at some point. I can't count how many people have said to me, "Why don't y'all just move there?" Well, here's the truth: Probably the only reason we haven't moved already is because I still want to be close to my brother, SIL and nephew. It really would be almost the same distance for Chris' parents house, so that isn't an issue. In Chris' current position, location is not an issue. We could live anywhere. Sure, right now I want a bigger house, a pool, etc. BUT, I don't want to move local and then 2 years later feel led and long to be somewhere else. That doesn't make a lot of financial sense. I'm just praying that the Lord will reveal to us where we need to be. So, we'll stay here a bit longer.
As a side note, I like the little town we currently live in. I don't want it to seem like I'm unhappy here. ;)
Anyway, we always take this trip in September because Chris has a board meeting here every year.

I would love to be the owner of the cutest little beach boutique and Chris would be working as a boat captain. Isn't that just the cutest little dream?! Haha

And one other thing, we have already been to the pumpkin patch this year!! It was actually one of the smartest decisions we made because there was hardly anyone there. It was opening day and we couldn't have asked for better weather.
We went to Old Baker Farm (the best one around Birmingham, by the way).
I love how big the patch is and you pay one fee when you enter. There is another patch that totally nickel and dimes you the whole time and it's the smallest patch of all!
Even Chris and I had a really good time because we could just kinda have fun as a family. No lines or waiting.

We did everything this year including the corn maze. Thank goodness we "helped" Dylan lead the way back out because we would have been going in circles for quite some time I suspect. :)
One last thing, pretty much everyone knows I'm a crazy animal lady...here's more proof.
My hummingbird. He is on his feeder almost every moment. A bit of a glutton. ;)

I found this kitten under a table display at an outdoor restaurant.
