You know when you tell your son, "oh, do this just like a big boy", or "act like a big boy"? Well, Dylan is officially there. I've always felt like 5 is when they finally reach that point of "do this because you ARE a big boy". It's sad on several levels, but I'm also proud of the little man he is becoming. Sometimes, when he falls asleep, I can still see that little baby face. :) Those little chubby cheeks and pouty lips just become more apparent when he's at rest.
This was his last night as a 4 year old. *sniff sniff*
Sorry, I kinda went through a creepy phase of about a week taking his picture sleeping. I couldn't help it, I was an emotional momma.
He amazes me everyday with the new things he learns and sometimes his maturity. Usually, some super feat in maturity is then followed by something that makes me think, nope he's still just 5! Haha!
Seriously though, he loves us and his sister with all his heart.
One thing I know is that he will be a loving husband and father one day. Chris sets the best example for him. He is so patient with Kinley sometimes and tender hearted. He saw a wishing star and his wish was for his sister to get a Lambie doll for Christmas. (which she already has, but it's the thought that counts right?)
He always makes sure that she is included.
(this cheese face, btw, kills me! haha)
He has his jealous moments sometimes, of course, but he would be one of the first to stand up for his "sissy".
He also loves his cousin, Jonah too! He loves to entertain him and make him laugh. They will be quite the combo I'm thinking in about another year.
Dylan makes our lives so much more fun! I just can't say enough about him.
He is totally Chris' mini me. He is soo darn reserved and practical just like his daddy. Some things he says and does, I just shake my head because he is such a sponge. ;)
For his 5th birthday, we had his party at Storyville Station. It was a superhero themed party.
The kids had a lot of fun and got to train to be superheroes.
We had a small party at home for him and he also had one at his school.
Dylan helped us set up at his school party.
Singing the birthday song with his teacher. :)
I could brag on my Dylan all day long. One day, Dylan, when you read this, I want you to know how loved you were (and are). You are such a blessing. I still cannot believe sometimes that *I* was chosen to be your momma.
Even though you're a big boy now, just know you will always be my "little man". Love you pumpkin butter!
