A Happy Easter!

We had another fun and successful Easter! I love Easter Sunday.
It's obviously such a meaningful holiday that's full of hope, plus it's pretty too. :) I remember as a child always putting on our Sunday best, attending church, taking pics by our neighbor's azaleas and my mom making the best lunch! Oh, how I miss these precious people! I mean this was back in the early 90's, and they still look sharp today!
Here is another one I love. I remember how we hung eggs in that dogwood every year. I'm pretty sure if you did that back then you were the cat's meow. ;)
So, back to 2014 and my little babes...

Dylan had an Easter program at school that was precious. They had a Easter hat parade and they learned songs and movements to perform for the parents.
We had to make his hat. All he said was he wanted a bunny hat, so Google to the rescue!
The hat took like two days to make because it's made from paper mache. There was a lot of drying time involved. We measured Dylan's head and then blew a balloon up to a bit bigger than his measurements. We just paper mached over the balloon (we did 3 layers). Easy peasy. We let the "hat" dry between each layer very well, otherwise, it would be a soggy mess. Here is is dry before we glued the cottonballs on...(we had to cut the hat to make the right shape to fit his forehead and ears.)

We duct taped bunny ears on that we cut out of cardboard. Then it was just a matter of gluing cotton balls and pink tissue paper on the hat and ears...
and voila! It turned out super cute and is surprisingly sturdy.

Kinley actually had a blast watching the kids. She just danced and sang in the aisle. I just can't imagine when I get this girl into a dance class. ;)
We had to dye eggs, of course, it's just something we always do. I have no idea how people get those beautifully dyed and shiny eggs, because ours never turn out like that. We got the glitter kit this year and it just looked like we sprinkled glitter on them when they were finished. It was kinda weird, obviously.

Next year, I really want dye some pretty eggs and get this egg crate in white from Anthropologie to display them.
Easter Sunday was great! We woke up and saw where the Easter bunny came to visit.
We went to church that morning and let Dylan come into "big church" with us. He was so excited about it and I was proud of how well he behaved. I was hoping he would get something extra out of that service and I'm pretty sure he did.
After church, we went to Derek and Nicole's for lunch and an egg hunt for the kids.

We had a wonderful Easter weekend and the weather was perfect!

I'll leave you with some backyard easter pics we took one evening.

These remind me just how blessed I am! It's not things that matter, but people. And I LOVE my people! ;)

I hope you had a blessed Easter as well friends!

We use to hang plastic eggs in our dogwood tree every year. Easter has always been a favorite of mine. I loved getting dressed up, wearing gloves, lacy socks and a bonnet. Your little ones look great! That dress is just too cute.
