A couple weekends ago, we were gonna take a last minute beach trip. However, we could not find ANYTHING that was decent and available. We still had an itch to travel, so we opted for a weekend getaway to the Marriott at the Shoals. (Random, I know) It is one of the top rated Marriott's in country. Everyone that works there was sooo nice. We've stayed at a lot fancier hotels, but this hotel wins the prize for best service.
This area had soo many parks. I was pleasantly surprised. The parks were super clean and nice.
We even found a park that was pretty much a kids dream. It had a train, roller coaster, carousal, jump house, playground, and lake with tons of geese!!
We also visited Helen Keller's house. I'm kinda becoming a history buff! I love stuff like that. It's just soo interesting to me how they lived way back when.
If you have a chance to visit this house, do it! They have her dresses, toys, writing, braille books, etc. all from when she was young.
The hotel had a really nice pool which was a plus.
Obviously, we had a great time and there was plenty to do for a weekend trip! I was pleasantly surprised. I love taking these little trips with my family. I hope the kids will remember all the fun we have.

That house of Helen's is so beautiful!
We've stayed there before and that hotel is AWESOME! My husband ran a half marathon and it started and ended in the hotel parking lot so we stayed there for 2 nights. LOVED the pool! Great pics of the kids!
