The month has been busy, as usual. We like it that way though. :) Chris took Dylan to his first monster truck show. Dylan had a blast, but didn't say anything which a lot of the time is a sure fire way of knowing he had a blast. Maybe he's just trying to take it all in.
He said his favorite trucks at the show were Wolverine and Straight Jacket.
I'm still trying to decide if I want to take the kids to the circus or not. Kinley would like it, but I'm not quite sure she would want to sit the whole time. I'm sure Chris would vote no on that. ;)
We took a super last minute beach trip. I had cabin fever (it's a real thing people) so I needed some fresh walls to stare at. We had a really good time. It was pretty much us and the snowbirds. They know how to party though. Every place we eat there was a huge a group of them drinking, watching sports, & gossiping. The restaurants have dancing, bingo, & all kinds of activities for them. It was too funny.
I can't even describe how much Kinley hates sand, but she loves the "beeeeccchhh!!!" I haven't quite figured that one out yet.
So beautiful.
We eat at The Hangout the first night with the snowbirds. Who am I kidding, we eat with the snowbirds every night!!
I love the view from The Hangout. The public beach is really a very pretty beach because the sand is soo wide! A lot more so than around the condos.
I always get the fish tacos..they are delish! They had a special snowbird menu and me and Chris just laughed and laughed about with how long it took to get our food, they probably haven't had anyone order off the real menu in weeks. I guess it was a 'had to be there' kinda moment! LOL
They have a really cute toy store for kids. It's pricey though. You're paying for the experience I guess.
We had to hit up Fat Daddy's Arcade twice. It's new, so it still smells clean which makes me swoon.
We went to the zoo to pass some time and let K expel some energy. They probably have 10 peacocks there.
She just wanted to chase them and would get mad when we told her no.
One of mine and Kinley's fav things to do is go to Target. When I only take her and not Dylan too she is sooo much calmer. She will seat in the little front cart seat and wave at strangers and actually behave.
I usually let her get a toy, so I'm sure that helps. She usually wants something to do with Doc McStuffins.
She is also doing better with her naps for the most part. She is down to one long nap a day. I can put her in her crib and ask her to lay down and she'll let me tuck her in.
She won't always go right to sleep, but she is calm at least and not jumping up and down and banging her head on the crib.
I can't believe she will be 2 at the end of the month. She talks in sentences and has already picked up things I tell Dylan. Like this morning, we pulled into the parking lot at Dylan's school, and she says "Unbuckle buddy!" without me saying a word. (Since there is a car line, I tell him that every morning, so he will be ready to hop out.) She is a little mama for sure.
Other than all that, I've been keeping busy making winter and valentine applique shirts.
Sidenote: Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays. I know people think it's cheesy and man made, but what's so terrible about a holiday about love?! ;)

I love that you had a little getaway!
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed our lunch together. We must do it again in a couple weeks!
And Kinley's onesie outfit is SO CUTE!!!
you're doing something so important--making those wonderful family memories!
OMG Carter is the same way about the sand!!! We've only taken him to the beach a couple of times, but he LOVES the water and waves, but he does NOT like the feeling of sand on his feet. I'm so glad to hear someone else's kid is like that because I thought it was so weird! I imagine Justin will one day take Carter to those monster truck rallies. I guess they look fun from a boy perspective! Circus is more my style though :)
