The New Year & Shopping

New Years Eve has never been super exciting to me. I mean, not to be a dud, it's just not my fav holiday. I do enjoy the freshness the new year brings though. I like the feeling of a clean slate. Even before kids, we never went all out on New Years Eve. So it makes total sense that we were at home, snug as bugs in a rug that night.
We colored a lot that night and made ice cream brownie sundaes. That's as crazy as it got around here!
Oh yea, so good!
New Years Eve for lunch we had Chuys...along with everyone else in the Birmingham area. Ha!
Also that morning, I took Dylan to see Big Hero 6 which was a super sweet movie. I didn't really expect much going in, but it was a very family oriented movie.
There just isn't very much to do in January except play with new Christmas toys and go shopping.

Speaking of shopping, our new Publix opened and it rocks my world! I LOVE it. I used to dread grocery shopping. So much so, at the end, I would make a list and Chris would go buy everything at Walmart. I stopped shopping at Walmart a couple years ago and now Chris says he won't be stepping back into a Walmart for as long as humanly possible haha!!
Can you tell the kids love Publix too!? D is just into all the free food. It's just a world of difference. I mean the customer service is crazy good and the selection, well, it's doing a number on the grocery bill. Gotta start realizing how much that stuff adds up. That's the only painful part though, just the bill. The rest is bliss.
Target and Publix are my new weekly favorites. I'm sure Chris is thinking, "Great, just what we need another Targetesque store addiction!"
I can't help it though! ;)
